Announcement | May 18, 2011
We have reached the mid-point of our Spring pinball season, and its time for an update. The new teams have come together well, while the second-year teams are showing their maturity. In the Manhattan division, the Cartel is flexing its muscle with some improved game play and dominance at home. When the Family Guy machine is working well, the Cartel is still undefeated at home. The Ball Rockets of 7B hold a slight edge for second place, while the 2 For 1er’s have just shot up from last to third anchored by the strong play of their captain, Jimmy. The bottom three teams are all close and legitimate contenders for the playoffs.
Over on the Brooklyn side, The Mutants of Zablozki’s and The Sofa King Suite of Bar Great Harry are now in a dead heat for first. Both of these teams are very strong and are currently the teams to beat. However, although they have 2 losses, the Bumper? Hardly Knew Her! team is only down 4 points from the top two teams, and hold a strong hold on third place. The Wizards and Casserolers have come together nicely and look to be contenders for a playoff spot. However, don’t count Flipped Out out. Although they have just earned their first win, they have been hampered by a very tough schedule the first half of the season. I expect they will make a strong showing in the end.
The playoffs will consist of the top 4 teams from each division. Teams will play in their own division for the first two rounds to determine the Division Champion. The top teams from each division will then face off in the finals to determine the league champion. The first two rounds will be played at normal times, with the finals tentatively scheduled for the Wednesday immediately following the second round playoff.
Much can happen in the second half. Good luck and thank you to everyone!
