Announcement | October 18, 2012
On Monday night, October 15th, we marked the mid point of our Fall season of league pinball with a party and a little “Ringers” tournament. Each team was invited to select a single player to represent them in the tournament for the evening. Each group was broken down by division and the top “ringer” in each division squared off to determine the “League’s Top Ringer.”
In a double elimination tournament, the competition was fierce. While most players found themselves in the loser’s bracket, Chris of the Pinfidels, coasted to through the A-Division lineup without a scar. Meanwhile, in the B Division, Filip, of the Cartel, lost his second round match against Jimmy of the 2-For-1ers. While Jimmy coasted through the rest of the lineup, Filip fought his way back for a rematch in the finals where he beat Jimmy two straight times for the B-Division championship. This set up Chris to play Filip in a best of three set to crown the “League’s Top Ringer.” After 3 hard fought games on Spider-Man, Filip emerged victorious.
For their efforts, Chris and Filip each won a $20 bag of quarters. As the overall winner, Filip won all day passes for his entire team to the Silverball Museum in Asbury Park. For the rest of us, we simply had a great time getting together as a group!
