2013 Spring Soirée

We’re throwing a party to celebrate the coming of Spring, and this time we’re kicking it up a notch. All you pinheads are invited to find a partner for our mixed-doubles pinball tournament. Competition will take place on four classic machines while a DJ spins some dope tracks to help set the mood.
The Tournament
Each team of one male and one female player will compete in a double elimination tournament. Please note, while a celebratory roll in the hay is encouraged after the party, this is NOT a couples tournament — it is a mixed gender tournament. Every game will consist of one team versus another on any of four different pinball machines. Machines and match ups will be randomly drawn. Winning teams will automatically advance, while losers will either move into the Losers Bracket, or else be eliminated. The Winners Bracket will consist of 4-player games on a single machine, with the highest combined team score winning. The Losers Bracket will consist of two-player, split flipper games with each member of the team controlling a single flipper (see photo above). Every team is entitled to one loss before elimination. The tournament is open to 24 teams, with the first 16 slots available for the discounted online registration below. Cash and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams as follows:
First Place: $100 (per team) + prize(s) (TBD)
Second Place: $50 (per team) + a prize(s) (TBD)
Third Place: $10 (per team) + a round of drinks
Registration
Online pre-registration is now closed; however, there will be 8 additional slots available, for $10 a team, on the night of the event. In order for these additional teams to compete ALL 8 slots must be filled in time for the 8:30 start time. These additional slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Individuals who wish to participate are encouraged to show up early to find a partner and register.
