Creek and Cave
10-93 Jackson Avenue
Long Island City, New York 11101
Our friend Francesco has teamed up with the owners of the newest NYC pinball mecca, the Creek and Cave, along with Al and Eddie, to bring forth the first of what will hopefully be an annual tournament at this wonderful food, drink, comedy, and pinball emporium.
The main tournament is an official full point value IFPA tournament. Entry is $10 per person, and all of the money will be paid out to the top three finishers. There will be additional prizes (TBD) handed out as well. Qualification will consist of one game on each machine (you must play with at least two other players), where top score overall will get 100 points, 2nd place 90 points, 3rd place 85 points, 4th place 84, etc. Each individuals five scores (assuming there will be five machines in play) will be combined to determine their total point score.
The top 16 players will go on to the next round and will be split in 4 groups of 4 players by their seeds (1/8/9/16, 2/7/10/15, 3/6/11/14, 4/5/12/13). Players will then compete in a survival format until only 1 player is left in each group. Initially, the top qualifiers in each group will decide game or order, subsequently, the winner of each match will choose game or order. While the same machine may be played twice consecutively, no single player may choose the same machine twice consecutively (ie, if the first seed chooses a machine and then wins the first match that person cannot choose that same machine again, but another player can). The top four finishers in each group will also play survival format, but the machines will be randomly chosen, and the qualification seeding will determine the play order, with the top qualifier going last.
All machines will be on coin drop and are open for practice until 1 pm. PAPA rules will be applied with regard to unauthorized play.
$2 per attempt on a single machine (Wizard of Oz?), with unlimited entries. The top four scores will face off in one final game to determine the overall winners. Cash payout for the top three, plus other prizes. This is an official IFPA side tournament with half value.
