Season 9 Kickoff Party

Come celebrate the kickoff of the ninth season of the Pinball New York City team league at Jackbar, on Wednesday, September 3rd. The festivities start at 8PM and will carry on well into Thursday. There will good people, good vibes, good drink, and good pinball on hand for all to enjoy. In addition, we will also be hosting our famous…er…soon to be moderately well known “one-handed” tournament on two of the bar’s pinball machines (TBD).
The League
Every team playing this season is required to send at least one representative to the party to pick up copies of this season’s rules and score-sheets. Failure to comply may result in the team’s dismissal from this season’s play, so please make my life easier and drop by to finalize your registration.
Any individuals who are not on a team are encouraged to attend the party to try and get on an established team, or to meet others and start a new team of their own. The party is a great venue for teams to recruit new players, so attendance is highly encouraged if you are interested in playing this season.
One Handed Competition
On one machine, entrants will be invited to post their best score using ONLY their left hand. On another, it will be right hand only. Swing your hand from one flipper button to the other as you try and keep that ball alive and run up the score. Be prepared to panic if you manage to start a multiball. Curse and kick when you instinctively bring your other hand to the table and immediately disqualify your score. Each attempt will cost $2 which will all go into one of the two separate prize pools. Competition starts promptly at 8:30 and will end at 11, at which point the highest score for each competition, left and right handed, will take home all of the money in the respective pool.
