Rule Update | February 22, 2015
There has been an update to the rules to directly address the unlikely, but very possible, occurrence of a venue suddenly being unavailable to league play. This event can take place for many reasons, and I have finally addressed the issue in the rules. Essentially, a closed venue should NOT be grounds for not playing a match. Matches that simply do not take place screw up the whole standings system, and can cause problems down the line. Instead, the match should simply be moved to a nearby, available venue of the home team’s choosing. While it is difficult to manage, you also have the option of rescheduling a match, but both teams must agree to this on the spot and will be beholden to the plan thereafter. Please do NOT contact me if and when this happens, as I am largely unavailable on league nights to solve problems.
I have also made a minor change to the rules governing playing on multiple teams. Essentially, the new rules guiding how a Reserve player can be used during a match negates any reason to limit a player to a Reserve role on their second team. That being said, we have quite a few players playing on multiple teams this season, and I am keeping a close eye on things. I have loosened my grip because there are a few teams that NEED players, but I really don’t want this to get out of control. You still need to get my permission before adding a multiple team player to your roster.
Finally, I have reinstated the rule that says that once you drop a player from your roster, that player may not return to your team at any point during the season. However, he/she MAY be picked up by another team.
