Announcement | December 11, 2012
The Fall 2012 champions have been established. On Monday, December 10th, championship matches were played to determine the winners of both divisions.
After only winning two games over the past two seasons, the Zablozki’s team changed their name to “Revenge of the Mutants” and surged through this season atop the A Division. Their season culminated with a decisive victory over the Terrorwrists at Satellite Lounge on Monday. After winning being crowned champions in the league’s first two seasons, the Mutants suffered a bit of a shakeup which resulted in their first name change. The Pinaholics came out in season three and managed only one win. Season four brought pinball stud Frank to the team, another name change back to the Mutants, and one more win. How they managed to do so well this season is beyond me, but perhaps my team will have some of the same magic next season.
In the B Division, the “we’re not good enough for A Division,” Lost in the Zone team has repeated as champions. Strengthened by the off season pickup of league newcomer Josh, and playing at their new home, the Owl Farm, Lost in the Zone ended the season with only a 5 & 4 record but managed to earn the fourth seed in the playoffs. After upsetting the number one seed, Dr. Teeth, at their home in round one, they went on to face the always tough Damned Refugees in the finals at Mission Dolores. Lost in the Zone prevailed and they will retain the trophy for another season. The question remains, however, will they rise up to A Division next season?
