The league semi-final rounds are in the book. On Monday, the defending champs, Return of the Mutants, defeated the always tough team from Reciprocal, the Terrorwrists by a score of 10 to 6. This means they are in line to defend their crown next week against the upstart Powerballers. The Powerballers defeated the former league champs, the Pinfidels, at Bar Great Harry in the second semi-finals match on Monday. Both the Powerballers and Return of the Mutants are extremely tough teams, and this finals match should be a good one.
In the B Division it appears as Amsterdam Billiards hosted the top teams this season. Both the Monday night team, the Damned Refugees, and the Tuesday night team, Factory of Sadness, called Amsterdam home this past season, and both are headed to the finals. In the Monday night Semi Finals match, the Damned Refugees defeated the tough team from Commonwealth, the Commonauts, 12 to 4 in a decisive victory. Last night, Factory of Sadness won its match over Pinball Monster (formerly Dr. Teeth) 10 to 6. This means that Factory of Sadness is still undefeated this season! The two brethren teams will meet at Satellite Lounge on Monday to battle for the overall B Division title and the right to claim the trophy.
Both winners and the two runner ups will be awarded their trophies and prizes at the End of Season party on Wednesday, May 22nd at Satellite Lounge. Best of luck to all of the teams, and I look forward to handing out the trophies that evening.
